Pokimane shared her thoughts on MrBeast’s show, Beast Games, stating that it made her feel quite sad.
She expressed concern about the show because it eliminated too many innocent players.
On Twitch, Pokimane has 9.3 million followers.
She frequently streams games like Valorant and Fortnite.
In addition to gaming, she also hosts a podcast called ‘Sweet n’ Sour’ with LilyPichu.
During a podcast episode on January 18, she referred to Beast Games as “depressing.”
The show began airing on Prime Video on December 19.
In this competition, 1,000 contestants compete for a prize of $5 million.
Some players were eliminated during the challenges when teammates accepted bribes.
This aspect of the show made Pokimane uncomfortable.
Poki isn’t a fan of how Beast Games made her feel.
She mentioned that the format includes contestants agreeing to eliminate the entire group for money.
She pointed out that watching people be eliminated repeatedly was upsetting.
For her, it is disheartening to see contestants claim they need the money for their families.
Pokimane compared MrBeast’s Beast Games to the popular series Squid Game, emphasizing that the scripted nature of Squid Game makes it less disheartening. She noted that while Squid Game is fictional, Beast Games involves real contestants, which adds to her discomfort.
She stated, “Squid Game is fictional and written, so even if it’s sad, those aren’t real people. Beast Games, however, truly makes me feel for the contestants.” Pokimane also highlighted that the most shocking part of Beast Games occurred when participants had to form teams of three and eliminate one member without any blame directed at that person.
Regardless of Pokimane’s feelings about the show, Beast Games has become a massive success on Prime Video. It has been reported as the most-watched unscripted series, attracting over 50 million viewers.
The competition will conclude soon, with four episodes remaining to determine who will win the grand prize of $5 million. The final episode airs on February 13.
