FaZe StableRonaldo recently faced backlash after revealing that he earned nearly $235,000 from Twitch over the past two months.
He described these earnings as “low” and “terrible,” which upset many people.
Ronaldo has been a member of FaZe Clan since 2022 and is one of the few creators who remained with the team after they made changes in July.
Starting as a professional player in Fortnite, he is now a popular streamer living in a new content house with other FaZe members.
His Twitch channel boasts over 3.3 million followers and around 12,000 subscribers, with many viewers tuning in to his live streams.
On August 23, while live streaming on Twitch, he informed his viewers about his earnings.
He stated, “This month was a low month so far because I’ve only streamed 111 hours, earning $86,129. Jesus Christ chat. So terrible.”
He added that last month was even worse, with 185 hours streamed, bringing in only $148,883.55.
People quickly began sharing clips of his comments on Twitter, criticizing him for downplaying his income.
Despite his substantial total earnings, many felt he should be more appreciative of his success.
Many users took to social media to express their opinions after hearing his remarks. They found it hard to believe that someone with his earnings would complain about income. One user remarked that calling $86,000 “low” demonstrated a lack of gratitude.
Supporters of Ronaldo defended his comments, arguing that it could indeed be a relatively low month for someone at his level, especially when compared to his peers. Some felt he was simply joking or being sarcastic about his income.
However, the backlash largely overshadowed the supportive comments. The general sentiment was one of disbelief and frustration. Many pointed out that earning over $7,000 per hour should be considered a fortunate position, especially in contrast to the average salaries of most workers.
One commenter expressed their annoyance, stating it was infuriating to see someone making such a significant amount of money complain about their situation, particularly after a tough work shift in manual labor.
This controversy arises amid broader discussions within the gaming community about streamer earnings and expectations. Recently, another streamer from FaZe Clan, known as FaZe Lacy, also sparked conversation when he revealed his own impressive weekly earnings during a stream.
These discussions underscore the often distorted perceptions of wealth and success in the gaming industry, where high earnings can still lead to feelings of inadequacy for some creators.
From Ronaldo’s viral comments to Lacy’s disclosures, it’s evident that Twitch income has become a significant topic of interest and debate among fans and fellow streamers alike.
