After the launch of Lunchly, a new food product from Logan Paul and KSI’s Prime in collaboration with MrBeast, there was considerable backlash.
FaZe Banks spoke out in support of Lunchly during a recent Instagram Live session.
On September 16, 2024, Prime announced the product, which competes with the well-known Lunchables brand.
Lunchly features three types of meals: Nachos, Pizza, and Turkey “Stack ‘Ems,” along with a small Feastables chocolate bar and a bottle of Prime Hydration.
However, the product received immediate negative feedback.
This backlash included criticism from dietitians and fellow creators, such as xQc and DanTDM.
On October 3, FaZe Banks appeared on the FULL SEND podcast to share his thoughts on Lunchly.
During the podcast, he defended the product against its critics.
Banks pointed out that much of the criticism stemmed from poor timing surrounding the product’s launch.
He referenced controversies involving MrBeast, which may have contributed to Lunchly’s negative reception.
Banks also praised the launch of Prime, comparing it favorably to Lunchly.
He stated, “Prime is going to be studied for decades to come on what a 10/10 launch of a product looks like.”
Banks mentioned how Logan Paul and KSI captured the attention of the internet, making their earlier product launch a success.
When Paul lost a fight to KSI, he set aside his pride to collaborate with KSI in launching the product.
He continued by saying that their strategy was to harness the energy from their ongoing drama to create a product for their fans.
Banks criticized the backlash towards Lunchly, claiming that the negative reactions were exaggerated. He noted that MrBeast, who typically avoids criticism, has faced issues related to Kris Tyson, which may have influenced how people perceived Lunchly.
In his comments, he stated, “Lunchly isn’t really offensive; people have overreacted to it, in my opinion.” He emphasized that both Logan Paul and KSI are currently dealing with their own controversies, which may have led consumers to be more critical of their new product.
Banks also took to social media to highlight a perceived double standard, saying that critics of Lunchly are now celebrating Kai Cenat’s collaboration with McDonald’s. He stressed the importance of authenticity, stating, “For the record, I think both are great. Just some of you are so painfully fake it’s impossible not to call out.”
Overall, Banks believes that the launch timing and surrounding drama played a significant role in the backlash against Lunchly. He defended the product and encouraged fans to give it a fair chance.
