Asmongold has asked Twitch to take action after some streamers from Kick caused trouble at TwitchCon 2024.
Although TwitchCon in San Diego has wrapped up, many events from the convention are still being discussed online.
During the event, nmplol, a member of OTK, claimed he was sexually assaulted by a Kick streamer named DBR666 when they licked and kissed him.
Another popular streamer, xQc, had to escape from someone who was following him around and has called for serious consequences against those streamers.
Asmongold now insists that Twitch should respond by banning these streamers from future events.
He pointed out that they went there to create chaos, bothering and touching attendees without permission, showcasing typical Kick streamer behavior.
Asmongold believes Twitch needs to issue a warning to these streamers, stating that if it happens again, they could face legal actions.
He warned that people, especially content creators, may avoid attending events if they feel there is a risk of being assaulted.
In a discussion about nmplol’s case, it was revealed that Twitch had not contacted him after the alleged assault by the Kick streamer.
He mentioned that if such incidents occur without consequences, it could damage Twitch’s reputation.
He emphasized that women, in particular, would not want to attend these gatherings if they fear similar incidents.
Furthermore, not every incident at TwitchCon was linked to the Kick streamers. Another Twitch streamer, Zenith, expressed her disgust after reportedly being sexually assaulted by a different creator during the event.
Her story gained significant traction on social media after she shared it on X, highlighting the ongoing concerns about safety at conventions.
Asmongold stressed the importance of Twitch taking stronger measures to ensure the safety and comfort of its creators and attendees. He pointed out that if there are no repercussions for such misbehavior, it could set a troubling precedent.
He mentioned that Twitch’s failure to acknowledge these issues can damage its credibility, especially if it allows such incidents to happen repeatedly.
Asmongold’s comments highlight a growing demand for accountability within the streaming community, particularly concerning the behavior of streamers at public events.
In light of these events, he urges Twitch to implement strict policies that protect attendees and maintain a safe environment for all creators, irrespective of their platform affiliations.
