Twitch Star Clix Faces Terrifying Swatting Incident Live From Mall: “Girls Were Screaming and Crying!”

Published On:

While streaming live on Twitch at a mall, Clix had a shocking experience when police arrived and evacuated the building.

This incident occurred on September 14, as the popular streamer was shopping in the Town Center Mall in Boca Raton, Florida.

Clix, who has nearly eight million followers on Twitch, was there with TikTok star Rachel Brockman when the situation took a turn.

He revealed during his stream that someone had called in a false report, known as swatting, leading to a police response.

Clix stated, “We can’t get out of the mall because one of you guys swatted the mall and said there was a shooting going on in here next to my f**king car. All the f**king stores are locked down.”

Before he ended the stream, Clix said that “girls were screaming and crying,” and described how “every single door has chains over it.”

He expressed frustration, saying, “the cops f**king think it’s me.”

Boca Raton Police updated the public through Twitter about the developments.

They informed everyone that the mall was closed due to the serious nature of the call they had received regarding Cody Conrod, who is better known as Clix.

The police reported that officers were able to locate Clix inside the mall and detained him for questioning while evacuating the area as a safety measure.

In a follow-up statement, authorities mentioned that the Bomb Squad checked a rental vehicle associated with the situation.

They confirmed that nothing suspicious was found and the investigation would continue.

Following the incident, Clix took to his Twitter account to express his feelings about what had happened. He shared, “Wow man, what a f**king disgusting world we live in,” and mentioned that he was “done with this IRL stream s**t.”

This was not the first occasion that Clix has faced such a serious issue. In 2019, during a Fortnite championship event, he was also swatted, which forced him to stop his stream abruptly.

Swatting involves making false reports to emergency services to provoke a response from law enforcement, often leading to dangerous situations. Despite being a well-known problem among streamers over the years, incidents like this continue to occur regularly, causing distress and concern.

In the case of Clix, the authorities were able to confirm that there was no threat at the mall, emphasizing the hard work of the Boca Raton Police from their updates. The ongoing investigation highlights the serious implications of such hoaxes and their impact on public safety.

As Clix continues to navigate his career as a streamer, this incident serves as a reminder of the risks involved in live broadcasting and the increasing need for safety measures. With close to eight million fans on Twitch, his influence in the streaming community remains significant.

Fans and followers have expressed their support for Clix, hoping for better protections against such reckless acts in the future, ensuring that the streaming environment can be safe for all content creators.
