Best Gaming Laptop Under 600
To be able to find out which gaming laptops under 600 were the best, I had to narrow my search a little bit. Since this is the list of the best gaming laptops under 600 and the fact that the most powerful gaming laptops usually cost a lot more than 600.
I have decided to focus on the powerful hardware that is inside the laptop, as well as the screen resolution. The CPU and GPU(where possible), the amount of RAM, and how much storage the laptops have was the most important things in choosing the best gaming laptop under 600.
To have hardware powerful enough to run games on a laptop under 600, some sacrifices had to be made. The sacrifices mostly came in the form of build quality, weight, portability, and battery life among other things. These aspects were of less importance when making this list.
With that said, we can get started with the list itself.
Gaming Laptop Under $600
Lenovo Flex 5
Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14”
1. HP 14-fq1025nr
At first, I didn’t know what to expect from this laptop, but, as soon as I started using it, I noticed how responsive and well-built it was. The 1080p IPS display did wonders for my enjoyment of this laptop under 600. The performance in games was also great. The AMD Ryzen processor was enough to run a lot of modern games, but not all of them.
For a gaming laptop under 600 This HP model performed well. This was in no small part the result of the great performance that the 8GB of RAM as well as the PCIe NVMe drive offer. The load times were very quick and browsing the web was never slow.
All of this was made better with the ability to go 10h between charging. Never did I run into a problem where I couldn’t use the laptop because of the low battery.
This was because whenever even if I was running low on battery, the HP fast charge technology made it so that I could charge half of the battery in less than an hour.
This gaming laptop came with a 1-year warranty, so even if something bad happened I would be able to get it fixed right away. Thankfully I never had to bring this gaming laptop in for any repairs but is always good to know that if need be, I have that option.
2. Lenovo Flex 5
Just like the previous laptop on this list, Lenovo Flex 5 is powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 5500U mobile processor with Radeon graphics. This makes it a beefy gaming laptop and out of most of the laptops on this list, it is one of the best gaming laptops there is.
This is no surprise if you take into consideration that this gaming laptop has 16GB DDR4 RAM and a 256GB NVMe SSD drive.
What makes this budget gaming laptop stand out from all the others on this list is that it is a Flex 5 14 touchscreen laptop. At this price range, you will hardly find a touchscreen laptop, especially a gaming laptop.
Gaming laptops under 600 or even over that price, don’t benefit that much from a touch screen, but it is a good little novelty to have.
One of the things that I most enjoyed about this gaming laptop is its screen. This affordable gaming laptop has an IPS panel with a screen resolution of 1080p, just like the last gaming laptop on the list.
This is usually the only deal-breaker for me when it comes to playing games, and thankfully Lenovo Flex 5 is one of the budget gaming laptops that supports this resolution. Other than the quality panel and screen resolution I also enjoyed the narrow bezel of the screen.
A narrow bezel makes the whole gaming experience better and more immersive, and I wish all budget gaming laptops had them.
One of the most alluring aspects of this gaming laptop under 600 is the inclusion of a free 3 month trial of an Xbox game pass. This allowed me to play games for free on my new gaming laptop.
Get instant Twitch, TikTok or Youtube followers!. A shortcut to your growth!
Since Xbox game pass offers over a hundred games on its service, this allowed me to try a lot of o games on this new gaming laptop.
3. Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14”
I found this laptop to be a powerhouse performance-wise. The AMD Ryzen 5 5500U Mobile processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, 256GB SSD storage, and AMD Radeon 7 Graphics card are what made my gaming experience on this laptop a treat!
This is a rare gaming laptop that has a dedicated graphics card, which makes it perfect for budget gamers.
The screen on this gaming laptop however is not as good as its performance is. Unfortunately, my gaming experience has been soured a bit by the Low-quality TN paned that this gaming laptop uses.
TN panels are a bit outdated and are generally not recommended for people who want to enjoy the whole spectrum of colors and a good contrast during their gaming experience.
The upside is that this gaming laptop has 4-side narrow bezels, like the last laptop on our list.
One other good thing about his laptop is that it is quiet and cool. This was a surprise for me, given how powerful the hardware inside the laptop is.
I was able to calibrate the performance with Q-control, which offered me three modes for controlling how I want this gaming laptop to perform.
The raw performance of this laptop under 600 makes it one of the best gaming laptops on the market right now.
4. Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15.6″
Since this gaming laptop is just a bigger and better version of the previous gaming laptop on this list, I will reiterate, In terms of performance, this gaming laptop is a beast.
The gaming experience is unmatched in this department, and just as its smaller sibling this gaming laptop is rare with a dedicated graphics card, making it ideal for low-budget gamers.
Most of the problems that I have with the screen of the smaller model of this gaming laptop are still present here. The TN panel does not do this gaming laptop any favors.
I guess that is a necessary sacrifice that has to be made to allow this laptop to be this powerful at such a low price. Thankfully the larger 15.6-inch screen makes it easier to stomach the awful panel of this gaming laptop.
This gaming laptop is just as quiet and cool as the smaller model and it has Q-control as well. The only problem that exists here is that with the larger screen comes an increase in weight.
This makes the laptop much less portable. So if you are someone whose gaming experience depends a lot on the portability of the laptop, maybe the smaller model is for you.
I never had a problem with this gaming laptop’s size and I felt that raw performance and the increase in the size of this gaming laptop under 600 makes it one of the best gaming laptops on the market right now.
5. CHUWI HeroBook Pro
This is the first gaming laptop on this list that comes with an Intel Core i5 CPU Gemini Lake N4020 processor. This intel core i5 CPU has a boost clock of 2.4GHz which is perfect for a gaming laptop under 600 dollars.
The intel core i5 CPU was also quite cool during my gaming sessions, which is not something I could say for most gaming laptops under 600.
Other than the great intel core i5 processor this laptop comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD storage. The storage may be a bit small, but if you are good at budgeting your storage space, you will not be having issues with this.
The full-size keyboard and big trackpad made working and playing games on this laptop enjoyable. Being able to have comfortable hand positioning is one of the main things I look for in a good gaming laptop.
One of the other positives of this 14-inch gaming laptop is that it is equipped with seven ports that you can use to plug in whichever gaming peripheral you wish.
This, in addition to fast charging, makes it great as a portable gaming laptop. Whenever I used it on the go I was able to plug in almost anything I needed to do work or play games on it.
The other thing that makes this gaming laptop under 600 so portable is how lightweight it is. Weighing in at only 3.06lb (1.39kg) and being extremely thin for a gaming laptop, allowed me to carry it around wherever I went.
6. TECLAST Windows Laptop Computer
This gaming laptop houses an Intel Core i5-8259U. This powerful intel core i5 processor has 4 cores and 8 threads, 6MB of cache, and a 3.8Ghz boost clock. It should go without saying that this is one powerful gaming laptop. This gaming laptop was easily able to run demanding games.
In addition to a powerful intel core i5 processor, this gaming laptop has a 15.6-inch IPS display, which allows for a better gaming experience. The 8 Gigs of RAM will allow you to have many open when browsing the web as well as give you a noticeable boost in performance.
One other great thing that I found about this gaming laptop is the full-size backlit keyboard and Numpad. This, combined with the great performance that this Laptop offers, made me feel like I was carrying around a desktop PC with me at all times.
The other thing that made this gaming laptop feel like I was carrying around a PC is its weight.
Weighing in at around 2 kg, carrying this laptop around with me was not an option. The battery life on this beast of a machine was also very short, which mean that If I wanted to bring it somewhere with me, I had to bring the charger with me, which added to the weight I had to carry around.
7. Acer Aspire 5 3350U
This gaming laptop has an AMD Ryzen 3 3350U CPU which can offer desktop-class performance and amazing battery life in a small package. This processor may not be as powerful as an intel core i5 but it can run a few demanding games and is all that a good gaming laptop needs.
One great thing about this gaming laptop is its screen. For such a small laptop it is great to see a 15.6-inch 1080p display. Even if this gaming laptop isn’t able to run the most demanding games out there, at least the display size and quality.
In that sense, I’ve found that playing games on this laptop are better than on other gaming laptops under 600.
This laptop has other niche built-in features, like the fingerprint reader, which honestly never found useful and I believe that it would be better if there was a version of this laptop without it, since the price would most probably be even lower if that were the case.
Other than that, this gaming laptop has 4GB of RAM which will limit the performance in some situations.
The 128GB NVMe solid-state drive storage is great since that is the fastest form of storage, but it adds to the price of the laptop and is not that necessary for a gaming laptop.
8. ASUS VivoBook Ultra Thin
The main draw of this laptop for me was the 15.6″ IPS LCD. Not because it is different in many ways from other gaming laptops on this list, but because it has an advanced touchscreen. You can use this laptop as a streaming tablet and it is very intuitive.
It is a novelty and the novelty of everything runs out usually, like the previous laptop on this list that had a touch screen. Other than that the anti-glare surface is just great for a gaming laptop, especially if you plan on using it outside.
This gaming laptop is very portable, weighing in at 3.75 lbs. I never had a problem carrying it around with me. It is impressive just how light it is when you take into consideration how powerful the CPU is in this budget gaming laptop.
This gaming laptop is powered by a 1oth generation Intel Core i3 processor with integrated graphics. I found this laptop’s responsiveness and smoothness to be on the level of much more expensive budget gaming laptops.
The fast 8GB of DDR4 RAM is great for running games and browsing the web. The other thing that aids its portability is the 9-hour battery life.
While it may not be as long as some other gaming laptops under 600, it is still good since it offers so much horsepower in such a light and small format.
9. Dell Inspiron 3000 15”
It’s nearly impossible to write a review of a laptop like this because there’s so little to say about it. Expect a high-quality piece of hardware from Dell if you’ve ever owned an Inspiron or any other Dell laptop. With the Inspiron, you get a sturdy and well-built machine.
If you’re looking for a more affordable laptop for work or light gaming, check out the Dell Inspiron 15 3000. Despite its status as a consumer laptop, Dell frequently offers it at a discount for businesses.
Compared to the Latitude and XPS ranges, entry-level pricing doesn’t offer the same fit and quality. A low-cost laptop that can handle daily productivity tasks is what you get.
Just a Core i3 processor is enough for web surfing, Microsoft Office, and general productivity on the model I tested. Normally, I prefer Core i5 processors, but looking at this device made me realize just how far the Intel Core i3 line has come in recent years.
For those who need a laptop for light work and productivity but don’t want to break the bank, Core i3 models are a good option.
10. DERE Laptop with Backlit Keyboard
The best thing about his gaming laptop is its build quality. Its full metal body makes it sturdy and cool for the most part. It gets hot and loud only when playing demanding games.
This is mostly because this gaming laptop houses an Intel Celeron processor. This is old technology by today’s standards and simply isn’t as good as some other options out there.
On the other hand, the laptop has a large amount of RAM which allowed me to browse the web fast, with fast loading times and snappy response times.
Other than that, this gaming laptop under 600 just wasn’t able to cut it, especially when compared to other budget gaming laptops under 600.
The portability of this gaming laptop is also a bit lacking. It is heavier than some other entries on this list but in addition to that its battery life is only 8 hours.
This made it impractical for me to take it with me anywhere, so my testing was mostly done in-house.
11. ASUS L510 Ultra Thin
I was surprised to see that the whole body of this laptop is plastic. This was a good thing in the end because it mean that this gaming laptop would be easier to carry around.
Weighing just 2.31 pounds and measuring 0.67-inches thick, this gaming laptop under 600 is just the perfect weight and size for my taste.
The 15-inch display was also well designed, with good brightness to boot. I never had a problem seeing everything I wanted to see when using it in dark or in very bright areas.
Gaming on this gaming laptop was serviceable. It houses an integrated graphics card and an Intel Celeron processor.
Other than the entry-level specs, this gaming laptop also has an extremely rudimentary keyboard, with very light keys and minimal tactile feedback.
Since I’m trying on my computer a lot, this is something that started to bother me as I was using it.
12. HTOOLS Laptop Computer
This laptop was decent. It was functional and it got the job done. Performance-wise, that is all I can say about it. It was serviceable. That is mostly to do with the fact that it has an Intel Celeron N4120 processor.
This quad-core CPU has a boost clock of up to 2.60GHz, but I can say that I never felt that when gaming on it. What I did feel was the integrated graphics card, that was the sole reason this PC was able to run a good deal of games.
While I wouldn’t say that this is the best gaming laptop under 600 I would say that is good. outside of games, the 8GB of DDR4 memory enabled me to work efficiently and quickly.
The same can be said for the 128GB of SSD storage that it has. One thing that impressed me about this laptop is the possibility to upgrade its storage.
If you want you can install an M.2 SSD of up to 2TB. This is not something most gaming laptops under 600 deliver.
The screen on this gaming laptop is also pretty good. It may be small, being that it is 14-inches, but the full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1920×1080 made it enjoyable to use inside or outside.
The smaller form factor added to its small weight of 2.87 pounds which is always good pro portability, and use outside of the house.
Things to Look For in a Good Gaming Laptop?
looking for the best gaming laptop under 600 is not the same process for everyone. All of us have different needs and wants when it comes to gaming on a laptop or gaming in general.
For example, some people would likely sacrifice frame rate in order for their games to look better, and others will try to have the best performance no matter the hit to the game’s visual.
Here I will outline some of the main aspects of a gaming laptop are, so you can decide what is the most important to you. And then you can use that as a guide when deciding what the best gaming laptop under 600 is for you.
Resolution is one of the most important aspects when it comes to gaming laptops. The resolution will determine how sharp the image displayed on your screen is.
When you are gaming you want to see the game that you are playing in all its glory. That is why I wouldn’t recommend going under the resolution of 1920×1080.
You will be able to find gaming laptops under 600 that support lower and higher resolutions. But you just need to be aware that the higher you go the harder it will be for your gaming laptop to run the games that you want to play.
Type of Storage
There are two types of storage that come with gaming laptops under 600. You have HDD(Hard Disk Drive) and SSD(Solid State Drive). Hard disks are old and very slow.
If you are a person that like quick load times in their games and applications, I strongly suggest going with an SSD because their speed is 2-3x faster in some instances.
However, SSDs in gaming laptops under 600 contribute a lot to their price tag. If gaming laptops have an SSD, you can be sure that in some other aspect there had to be a cut cost.
Whether it is the type of display, the resolution, or the processor. If you don’t mind waiting longer for games to load, you can go with an HDD model and save yourself some money.
Good gaming laptops can be hard to find these days. Even if mobile technology is developing fast, the gaming industry is developing even faster. Today it is hard to get a hold of a great gaming PC, let alone a great gaming laptop.
However, as you can see, a gaming laptop under 600 can be found. Gaming laptops can set you back a pretty penny, but if you know where to look you can find a great gaming laptop.
I hope this list will help you decide what the best gaming laptop under 600 is for you.
How much memory should a gaming laptop have?
Most of the gaming laptops on this list have around 128GB of storage. That is serviceable for today’s standards, but it is quickly becoming too little.
Games of today can get up to the 200GB requirements, so you need to take that into consideration as well when looking at storage. The potential best gaming laptop under 600 should have around 500GB of storage space.
Is a dedicated graphics card essential for a gaming laptop?
A dedicated GPU is great to have because it will make gaming much smoother. However, having a dedicated GPU adds a lot to the cost of a gaming laptop.
The best gaming laptops have a dedicated graphics card, but if you want to pay a smaller price, you need to look at the best gaming laptops without a dedicated GPU.
Can I play all modern games on a budget gaming laptop?
That is hard to say. You will most definitely be able to play older games on your budget gaming laptop but, when it comes to modern games, some you will be able to play without a problem, while others you will be able to play only if you lower a few visual settings in the options menu.
Can I upgrade my laptop’s components?
Unfortunately, upgrading components on a laptop is impossible. There are some laptops that allow you to modify them, but no laptop out there can be straight-up upgraded.
Laptops are usually seen as mobile devices, and they use some of the same components as phones, and just like you can’t upgrade your phone, you can’t upgrade a laptop.
